Charging at home a setback for EV infra investors

Here is some good news for those who plan to buy e-cars but are worried about not finding a place to charge. In a big push to the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), the Indian government has just allowed individuals as well as entities to set up public charging stations without a licence.

Also, EV owners can now charge their e-vehicles from their homes or offices. Even two years ago, EV buyers were worried about not being able to charge their cars.

EVs | Tata Motors makes a winning start

Electric vehicles (EVs) have caught the fancy of the Indian government in the last one-two years or so as it makes an effort not only to control pollution but also to save the costs of a vehicle or car owner and Tata Motors is turning out to be a winner in the segment in India.

Electric vehicles, as many of us know, operate on batteries, and hence, do not dig deep into our pockets. I mean, they are cheaper for the customer to operate compared to passenger vehicles that run on petrol that costs over Rs 100.

Electric vehicles vs ICE cars

The adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is growing at a rapid pace even though petrol and diesel cars have not yet lost much steam, at least for now. But before a potential buyer abandons these fuel cars for the battery-operated ones, he or she must know where the difference lies.

The basic difference between internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and EVs is their fuel. While EVs operate on battery, ICE vehicles run on petrol or diesel.
