After an iconic e-scooter factory, Ola Electric’s plan to get into e-cars could see the first roll out of a four-wheeler within a year. Now, there is word that Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola promoter, is searching for land for its four-wheeler factory.
A slew of engineers is believed to have been inducted from leading automakers to give Ola’s four-wheeler plan a big push. Among them is Wayne Burgess, Jaguar’s former design director, who joined Ola Electric last year as vice-president of design.

A formal announcement by Ola Electric is likely to happen soon. According to a source, some “fantastic concept designs” were presented to Aggarwal.
Recently, Aggarwal took to Twitter and posted what the four-wheeler concept could look like. In the car, the Ola logo is clearly visible.
Ola’s concept four-wheeler seems to be influenced by the hatchback Nissan Leaf. Also, the designers may have taken a leaf out of Tesla’s design concepts.
The design of the concept in the image gives a futuristic feel and it comes with an extended windshield. There is also a light strip, rear haunches and large wheels.

In the concept car, the LED lights are in the form of a stripe and the car would come with a clean sheet design at the side, having a minimalist approach.
Ola Electric’s car is set to have a compact cabin. There could be a touchscreen infotainment system and the seats would likely get a sporty look. The 360-degree glass panel is set to be spacious for the occupants.
This is just the initial design stage. And, as the company’s car progresses from the concept to the production stage, there could be some changes, and only then can we know what the final design will look like.
The Ola e-car is set to come with sporty alloy wheels to give it a sports car look. According to the design concept, the wheels come with a plate-like look and not with the conventional spokes. There are also the yellow-coloured brake callipers in the front as well as the rear wheels.
With the four-wheeler, Ola Electric is not only eyeing the Indian market but also planning an entry into the global arena. So, Ola is meticulously choosing its design.
It is believed to be seeking a fundraising to expand its two-wheeler factory and for setting up the four-wheeler facility.
On the two-wheeler front, Ola Electric has given a big fillip to its e-scooter factory by raising the manufacturing capacity to 1,000 scooters per day.
Ola opened its second purchase window for S1 and S1 Pro scooters in January 2021. The company seems to be facing challenges while meeting its delivery schedules. Price range of the two wheelers is from Rs 85,000 to Rs 1.1 lakh (Rs 110,000).
In December 2020, Ola Electric had started production of e-scooters in Tamil Nadu. It had acquired land and signed a Rs 2,400-crore memorandum of understanding or MoU with the state government.
Ola says that the Tamil Nadu unit is the largest scooter factory in the world.
If the concept four-wheeler evolves to look like the swanky Nissan Leaf, it could be an initial game-changing push for Ola.
