EV charging concerns | 50% of Brits prefer petrol or diesel cars

It seems concerns regarding charging are paramount among Brits and this one reason has resulted in almost 50 per cent of respondents preferring petrol or diesel cars over electric vehicles (EVs), says a study.

The study conducted on 1,000 Brits by insurance firm NFU Mutual saw that 45 per cent of respondents said they would not swap petrol or diesel cars for EVs in the next 10 years.

What could Tata Altroz EV price be, if launched?

With Rs 4,800 crore into EV parts, Toyota plans big India push

Toyota group firms are planning to line up an investment of Rs 4,800 crore (Rs 48 billion) in Karnataka for local production of powertrain parts and other electric vehicle (EV) components, indicating that the Japanese giant could be planning a big India push. 

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) and Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts (TKAP) will pump in Rs 4,100 crore  (Rs 41 billion) along with another Rs 700 crore (Rs 7 billion) by Toyota Industries Engine India, which implies that Toyota may be eyeing to get into the entire EV ecosystem in India.

Tata Nexon Max EV may have higher range, price could be over Rs 18 lakh

India’s highest-selling electric vehicle (EV) — the Tata Nexon EV — has got a makeover and is coming with a larger battery of 40kWh, which means a higher range but the price of the new Max variant could be somewhat higher.

In a bid to accommodate the larger battery pack, the Nexon Max EV’s floor plan will be modified, which implies that the boot space will be lesser. Moreover, the motor may be a more powerful one, that is, 136PS.
