We have seen start-ups in India entering the two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) space but Pravaig Dynamics is one of the rare small firms that is planning to roll out its first ‘powerful’ four-wheeler electric car in India and some information on this would be available on November 25 this year.
This Bengaluru-based electric auto company has been planning to launch an EV for quite some time and earlier Pravaig had said it would roll out a sedan, Extinction MKI, initially but now it says its first e-vehicle would be an SUV.

This is a smart move by the company as the SUV segment has seen the highest growth in India’s auto sector.
Pravaig’s EV has been teased on social media handles. However, recently, it shared a look of its electric vehicle, though from the top (see photo above).
From this teaser, we get some idea on what the Pravaig electric vehicle would look like.
The image shared by the company showcases a large split panoramic sunroof and an EV with a broad look. It also has a LED tail light across the rear part of the SUV.
The front portion would also have sleek LED lights, similar to the rear. It is likely to come with a robust look, given its large wheel arches. It gives a feel of the Range Rover SUV from a slew of angles.
Pravaig has also given an idea as to what the performance of its first electric vehicle would be like.
According to the company, the EV can generate up to a mind blowing 402 hp of power. If so, it would be a powerhouse, similar to the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the electric version of the XC40.
This power would be double of the Kia EV6 and also more than the Audi E-tron. Pravaig has not come out with any details about the torque figures yet.
These clearly indicate that Pravaig’s first EV would be placed in the premium segment in India — a country, where the market is a price-sensitive one.
And, to do well in this premium segment, the upcoming SUV has to score on the performance, comfort and safety fronts in the long term.
Passenger safety could be highly commendable with multiple airbags. With all these features, it could be priced around at least Rs 30 lakh (Rs 30,00,000).
Earlier, Pravaig had mentioned that its EV would come with a driving range of 500 km on a single charge.
Also, it is capable of up to 80 per cent recharge in about half an hour, with the help of a fast charger.
According to Pravaig, the upcoming electric vehicle will have a maximum speed of up to 200 km per hour and can do from 0 to 100 km (62 miles) in just 4.3 seconds.
Pravaig Dynamics’ premium positioning of its electric four-wheeler looks imposing but the biggest problem for the company is the branding — not having a brand name and positioning its EV in the premium segment could make Indian buyers wary… considering there are big players like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and JLR.
