The automaker is gearing up to pip Tesla Inc as the new global leader in fully electric vehicle sales.

Tata Punch.ev may be priced around Rs 11 lakh

Tata Motors has just rolled out the first pure electric vehicle (EV) architecture called ‘acti.ev’, which will see its future portfolio of EVs, such as Punch, Sierra, Harrier and Curvv being launched, and the first to roll out will be the Punch.ev, which could be priced around Rs 11 lakh  (Rs 1.1 million).
 
“Punch.ev will be the first to roll out from this pure electric architecture, which will see a slew of vehicles with multiple body styles and sizes,” the company's statement said.

Delhi sees highest December EV sales in India owing to its friendly policy

It is learnt that nearly 20 per cent of the electric vehicles (EVs) sold in India during the month of December 2023 were in Delhi, mainly owing to its friendly policies with regard to electric vehicles.
 
Delhi has a policy on EVs, which lapsed on the last day of 2023, post multiple extensions. It is slated to be extended till March 31.

After its trial with hybrid cars, the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is set to launch its first electric car, the eVX, in the Indian market by March next year, and given Maruti’s eye for perfection, we could expect a high-performing car that is priced judiciously.

With Ocean Extreme EV launch, Fisker Inc to go slow in India

Tesla to make cars from Rs 20 lakh in India

Tesla has started discussions with the Indian government to set up an electric vehicle (EV) factory in the country, where Elon Musk’s company plans to make budget electric cars priced from Rs 20 lakh (Rs 2 million or $24,400) onwards.

With XUV400, XUV700 launch plans, Mahindra readies to take on Tata

The Mahindra XUV.e8, which would be the all-new electric version of the XUV700, is likely to be launched around December 2024, while XUV400 electric’s booking is on, which shows that Mahnidra is ready for the big battle with Tata in India’s electric vehicle (EV) space.
 
The price range of the Mahindra electric XUV700 may be around Rs 20 lakh (Rs 20,00,000) and the large SUV would slug it out with the likes of Tata Harrier EV, which is set to be rolled out around the same time.

Slowdown bug bites Tesla as it cuts prices of EVs in US, Europe

The slowdown bug seems to have bitten even Tesla, which recently cut prices of most electric vehicles (EVs) by around 20 per cent in the US as well as Europe.

Elon Musk’s firm may have anticipated a recession and wants to rev up demand for its cars so that it can make up for the possible imminent downturn.

Auto Expo 2023 | Cheaper Hyundai Ioniq 5 may beat Kia EV6 in sales

Hyundai has finally rolled out the Ioniq 5 at the Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida, and the crossover will be Rs 16 lakh (Rs 16,00,000) cheaper than its sister car, the Kia EV6, as the former will be assembled in India.

The Ioniq 5 will come for an introductory price of Rs 44.95 lakh (Rs 44,95,000) (ex-showroom) to the first 500 customers, which is still steep.

Tesla to make a dent globally even in long term | Model Y may become highest-selling car in the world

The Tesla Model Y was the best-selling passenger car in Europe during November, trumping the Volkswagen Golf, and this could be an indication that Elon Musk’s electric vehicle (EV) company is here to make a big dent even in the medium-to-long term and the Model Y could even become the leading electric car (in terms of sales) globally.
