Ola Electric set to roll out four motorcycles but it must find a solution for its faulty scooter batteries

Around April 2022, we saw four Ola scooters catching fire in seven days because of battery issues.

Ola Electric to roll out 4 electric motorcycles
Ola Cruiser will have a range of
200-250 km on a single charge.

Ola’s four new electric bikes

Recently, Ola Electric unveiled four new electric motorbikes during its Customer Day. These bikes have been christened the Cruiser, Adventure, Roadster, and Diamondhead.

With these bikes, Ola Electric wants to be the top player in India’s electric two-wheeler space.

Ola Cruiser motorcycle

Ola Electric’s first EV bike is the Cruiser (photo above). The Cruiser motorcycle depicts a laid-back stance, which is indicated in its smooth body lines.

The rider and pillion seats on the Cruiser integrate in a seamless way, and the bike has a sleek and futuristic look.

Ola Electric claims that the Cruiser will come with an approximate range of 200-250 km, and this would be suitable for city commuting as well as short road trips around the outskirts.

The Cruiser is offered with a single swing-arm rear wheel and a USD fork-equipped front wheel, which are 17 inches and 19 inches, respectively.

Ola Electric’s Adventure bike

Then, there is Ola Electric’s Adventure model, which will cater to off-road buffs.

This Ola model has been targeted towards the adrenaline junkies of India, who savour off-roading.

The Adventure model comes with an impressive and sturdy look and is made for rugged terrain.

This off-roading motorcycle will be equipped with a 5-inch digital display, which would be positioned centrally on the handlebar.

The Ola Electric Adventure will also be offered with 19-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels to glide smoothly across uncharted terrains.

Ola Roadster

The third Ola Electric EV motorcycle is the Roadster.

This is one of the most distinctive bikes in this pack, coming with a deconstructed design that sets it apart from the internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts on the Indian roads.

Ola says that this model has been designed for everyday use. The Roadster is offered with a dual-disc front brake and a single-disc rear brake.

It also has a 5-inch display that will soon incorporate mobile phone connectivity.

Ola Diamondhead

Ola Electric also showcased its flagship concept, the Diamondhead, during the occasion.

This model comprises one of the most unique motorcycle designs in India, typical by its straight and strong lines along with bold design choices.

The Diamondhead exhibits a futuristic appearance, just like Tesla’s upcoming Cybertruck.

The Diamondhead will be ideal for the super sports biking buffs.

It has a conical front, a digital dashboard, and a distinctive design, paving the way for a unique riding experience.

The front wheel is offered with dual disc brakes, while the rear wheel features a single disc brake.

The company, meanwhile, has remained mum on the drivetrain for any of these four bikes. This indicates that the bikes will not immediately hit the road.

But it is possible that these models will disrupt the EV motorcycle market in India soon after roll out.

E-Vroooom’s views

Unless this battery issue is resolved, Ola Electric’s customers may be wary about the bikes also even though they bear a disruptive look, and hence, the company will have to work on a war-footing simultaneously to resolve its faulty battery issues and gain its customers’ trust that its electric vehicle (EV) batteries are absolutely safe.
