The Xiaomi SU7 is not just any other electric car — it’s a sleek and high-tech sedan with cutting-edge features.

Made in a tie-up with Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd (BAIC), it proudly displays the iconic ‘Mi’ branding, blending technology innovation with automotive excellence.

Xiaomi SU7 variants

This revolutionary electric sedan will be offered in three versions — SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max, catering to various strata of the EV market.

According to China’s MIIT, the SU7 will compete with popular electric vehicles like Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, BMW i4, and others, with a similar price range, when it hits the Chinese market.

Xiaomi SU7 motor, top speed

It also packs a punch so far as power is concerned. The SU7 will have two options — a rear-wheel-drive version with a strong 295 bhp motor, achieving a top speed of 210 km per hour, and a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive version with an energetic 664 bhp motor.

This model is capable of achieving an impressive top speed of 265 km per hour.

Xiaomi SU7 dimensions

In terms of size, the SU7 is 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and has a height of 1,455 mm.

With a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and wheels ranging from 19 to 20 inches, this electric sedan promises a perfect mix of style and practicality.

The SU7 weighs between 1,980 and 2,205 kg, depending on the version.

SU7 features, batteries

Now, the SU7 has some exciting features! It will run on Xiaomi’s own HyperOS, an operating system developed in-house for both smartphones and cars.

Although specific battery details are still not known, Xiaomi has partnered with BYD for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries in the entry-level trims. For high-end variants, batteries by CATL will be used.

SU7 grand market debut

Commercial production of the Xiaomi SU7 is set to begin later this year, with the grand market debut likely in February 2024.

With its sleek design, top-notch features, and powerful performance, the Xiaomi SU7 is ready to disrupt the electric vehicle market with an exciting alternative to the current EVs.

Prices could be around Yuan 150,000 (Rs 17.5 lakh or Rs 1.75 million), which is perhaps the right pricing strategy by Xiaomi. The first set of cars could be rolled out in the China market.
